Mrs. Chaya Engle

Chaya Engle graduated from Fordham Law School in 1994 with a Juris Doctor. She then moved to Atlanta, GA where she worked as a Public Defender. After living in Connecticut for nine years, she and her family moved to Pittsburgh with their six children to become part of the Yeshiva Schools family.

Chaya worked as the Administrative Director of TELC at Yeshiva for many years before taking on the position of Chief Compliance Officer in 2021. Chaya also developed the emergency plan for Yeshiva Schools and continues to work on security issues and policies.

As the Chief Compliance Officer, Chaya reviews compliance at all three schools.  She also spends time writing grants in order to bring funding, equipment, and programs to Yeshiva Schools.

Mrs. Ashirah King

Director of Admissions and Enrollment

Ashirah King was born and raised in Berkeley, CA. After starting her family in Crown Heights, and spending some time living in Nashville, TN, Ashirah and her husband, Yisroel, moved to Pittsburgh. 

One of the many things that drew them to Pittsburgh was Yeshiva Schools and they are now the proud parents of five Yeshiva Schools students.

Soon after moving here, Ashirah started working on the Yeshiva administrative team, and now works as the admissions and enrollment director.

In that role, Ashirah coordinates admissions and enrollment for all three schools, as well as tuition and scholarships. She feels that one of the most rewarding aspects of her role is being able to provide support for parents through these different processes, and welcoming them to the Yeshiva community.

Officer Ray Klein

Officer Ray joins Yeshiva Schools with extensive knowledge from his many years of experience in both law enforcement and school security. Officer Ray served in the United States Army for 4 years and also served as an officer with the Pittsburgh police for 36 years. He later worked in school security for 8 years.

Mrs. Naomi Oster

Program Facilitator

Mrs. Naomi Oster is a proud mom and bubby! She and her family moved to Pittsburgh in 2006
so her children could attend Yeshiva Schools. An extra benefit has been creating great
friendships and connections within the Pittsburgh community.

She previously worked in The Early Learning Center as an assistant in a PreK classroom and
the toddler Classroom. She also helped manage the Infant room for several months. She then
worked as the Program Facilitator in TELC before moving to the Business Office.

In her current role, she assists Mrs. Chaya Engle with compliance for our many programs
including PreK Counts, and childcare works. Additionally, Naomi works with Ashira King to
maintain required documents and immunization compliance throughout TELC.

She also oversees the implementation of the federal lunch program that enables us to serve
lunches to all our Talmidim for free. Naomi enjoys being a part of Yeshiva Schools and is
delighted that she has grandchildren enrolled in the school!

Rabbi Ari Rosenblum

Rabbi Ari Rosenblum is a proud alumnus of Yeshiva Schools and a third-generation member of the staff. After receiving his rabbinic ordination, Ari pursued a career in fundraising and strategic growth, founding a successful mobile app in the mental health space. His leadership helped secure a significant pre-seed round and bring his vision to life, showcasing his ability to inspire investment and build meaningful partnerships.

Ari returned to Pittsburgh with his wife, Sara, and their three children—Miriam, Efraim, and Chaya—to become part of the Yeshiva Schools family once again.

As Chief Development Officer, Ari leads the development efforts together with the team, focusing on increasing all revenue streams and cultivating relationships with key stakeholders, including donors, foundations, and alumni. His strategic approach aims to enhance Yeshiva Schools’ financial sustainability and ensure its continued growth. Ari works closely with his father to build upon Yeshiva’s long-standing legacy of academic excellence and deep-rooted Jewish values.

Ms. Amy Schuler

HR and Accounts Receivable Administrator

Amy Schuler moved to Pittsburgh in 2011 and has been involved with Yeshiva Schools ever since. She’s proud to be a friendly face in the business office, and handles onboarding new staff and all incoming donations/payments.

Mrs. Janna Unik

Director of Development

Janna Unik lives in Butler with her husband and four children. A native of Western Pennsylvania, she graduated from Penn State University and has over twenty years of experience in fundraising development in the region, working at Butler Health System for most of that time.

She joined Yeshiva Schools in July of 2021 to support the Keystone Capital Campaign. Her development responsibilities now include SPE, EITC, grants, events, and solicitations. She also coordinates the school lunch program.
